What the Democrats won't tell
you about ANWR

Did you know that when ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge) was created, a subsection of the law – section 1002 – set aside a portion of the northern coastal plain for future oil production?

Did you know that the area within ANWR – Area 1002 – that is the potential source of vast oil deposits is already specifically set aside for oil drilling?

Did you know that the only thing preventing the drilling for oil in Area 1002 is that Congress (i.e. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) is required by the law to "approve" such drilling in the set aside area?

Now you know.

US Geological SurveyGood reading, so why believe them?

Would you believe the U.S. Geological Survey?
USGS is a unbiased, non-partisan, multi-disciplinary science organization. Here is their report issued in 1998, long before the current ANWR controversy:

1002 Area, Petroleum Assessment, 1998,
Including Economic Analysis
