NYPD Cop's Killer Convicted Of Manslaughter, Not Guilty Of Murder After Split Jury Ordered To Deliberate More

(Fox News) — The man accused of fatally shooting NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller during a traffic stop in Queens two years ago was found not guilty of first-degree murder but guilty of manslaughter and other charges.

Guy Rivera was convicted Wednesday of aggravated manslaughter in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree for attempting to shoot a NYPD sergeant who also responded to the scene and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. He was acquitted of murder in the first degree.

Earlier on Wednesday, the jury said it had reached a verdict but were sent back for further deliberations after one juror told the court the decision was not unanimous.

The foreman told the judge at the time that they had reached a not-guilty verdict on the first-degree murder charge but found Rivera guilty of the rest of the charges against him. But when the court clerk polled the jurors one by one to confirm they agreed with the verdict, juror No. 5 said they disagreed, according to the New York Post.

Trump Touts Rand Paul's Approval Of White House Ballroom Project In Board Planning Vote

(Just the News) — President Donald Trump touted Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul's approval Thursday of his White House ballroom project after he voted in favor of the project as part of a bipartisan commission.

The National Capital Planning Commission overwhelmingly voted to approve the project earlier Thursday, despite a federal judge's order blocking construction on the ballroom without congressional approval. One Democrat voted against it.

"I would like to thank the hardworking Commissioners and Staff of the National Capital Planning Commission, who just voted overwhelmingly, 8-1, to approve the magnificent White House Ballroom now rising on this Hallowed Ground," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"I am pleased to announce that even Board Member Senator Rand Paul, known as an extraordinarily difficult vote, voted a strong YES," he continued. "For more than 150 years, every President has dreamt about having a ballroom at the White House to accommodate people for grand parties, State Visits, and even, in the modern day, inaugurations.

Not Only Is She Radical, Senile
Maxine Waters Is Refusing....

(Gateway Pundit) — To Retire At 87, She Could Chair Powerful Committee Come Next January

At 87 years old, California Rep. Maxine Waters isn’t just part of the Democratic gerontocracy the party is trying to fight against – she’s arguably its most visible face.

Thus, approaching the 2026 election, you’d think that she’d be considering retiring – and if not that, at least scaling back her role a bit. Pulling a Pelosi, if you will: take it a bit easy and let your stock portfolio do the work for you.

But, no. Not only does crazy old Auntie Maxine plan on running for her 19th term in office – which she’ll almost certainly succeed at, given her name recognition and how blue her district is – but she hopes to also take control of one of the most powerful committees in Congress.

Powerful Human Rights Chief Who Led San Francisco Defund The Cops Push Has Spectacular Fall From Grace

(NY Post) — A city department head and her longtime boyfriend have been arrested, accused of siphoning millions in taxpayer funds meant to uplift the black community after George Floyd’s death.

Sheryl Davis, a former head of the Human Rights Commission, and her nonprofit boss partner James Spingola were taken into custody Monday on suspicion of multiple felony counts of misappropriating public funds and conflicts of interest.

Davis allegedly engaged in a “pervasive pattern of self-dealing” while in charge of the Dream Keeper Initiative – a $120 million plan to assist black residents spun up after the high-profile police killing of George Floyd in 2020.

The initiative was a scandal-ridden program launched by former mayor London Breed in 2021 – described as plan to redirect police funding towards economic opportunities for needy black residents.

Hegseth Lifts Suspension Of Army Pilots Who Flew By Kid Rock's House, Says There Won't Be Investigation

(CBS News) — Defense Secretary[sic] Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Tuesday there won't be an investigation after two Apache helicopters were seen hovering outside the home of singer and rapper Kid Rock, and he announced that the pilots' suspension has been lifted.

"Thank you @KidRock. @USArmy pilots suspension LIFTED. No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots," Hegseth wrote Tuesday on X from his personal account.

Just hours earlier, an Army spokesperson said the crew had been suspended from flying while the Army conducts a formal investigation into why the AH-64 helicopters flew near the singer's Nashville house and a "No Kings" protest during a training mission over the weekend.

It's not clear what the purpose of the training mission was. It was also not immediately clear how many people the suspension had affected.

Fate Of California's Last Nuclear Power Plant Revealed As State's Energy Needs Hang In Balance

(NY Post) — Regulators approved a multi-decade extension of operations at California’s last remaining nuclear power plant after it was set to close by 2030 under pressure from environmentalists.

On Thursday, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved an application for the Diablo Canyon Power Plant in San Luis Obispo Bay to operate until 2045.

The plant, which is a source of green energy, provides about 8.5% of California’s power. A decade ago, operator PG&E announced that the facility would shutter in 2024 before a California Senate bill passed in 2022 moved the deadline to 2030.

The extension ensures that the location will continue to provide clean electricity to around 4 million Californians. It also makes up nearly 20% of the state’s clean energy and 10% of the state’s total electricity, according to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office.

'Unprecedented' Rule Change Helps Radicals
Seize Control Of LA's Multi-Billion-Dollar Budget

(NY Post) — Los Angeles’ ethics watchdog has quietly rewritten election rules to hand $500,000 to a radical socialist controller who’s supposed to be monitoring how the city spends its billions.

The Los Angeles City Ethics Commission has scrapped a requirement that candidates must participate in public debates to unlock taxpayer-funded campaign cash – delivering radical Green Party incumbent Kenneth Mejia $500,000.

The change comes just weeks before the June 2 primary and will hand a huge advantage to Mejia.

“It’s the most outrageous thing I’ve ever seen in my career,” said longtime political consultant Rick Taylor, who represents Mejia’s challenger, Zach Sokoloff.

“I call it the ‘unethical department’ because I’ve never seen anything like this.”

Montana State Top Cop Moves To Crush Alleged
DHS Records Restriction As County Denies ICE-out

(Fox News) — Montana’s attorney general is demanding a county reverse a policy whereby the state's top cop denies Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to criminal justice data, warning the position is unlawful and undermines coordination with federal law enforcement, as a top local official pushed back.

Montana banned sanctuary cities under Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte's pen in 2021, and that policy also allows Attorney General Austin Knudsen to enforce compliance and investigate alleged aberrations under threat of civil action against any such state agency or local or county government.

Knudsen notified Gallatin County – anchored by the city of Bozeman – that its policy stance is "legally incorrect" and that Big Sky Country is not Big Sur.

"Let me be clear: Montana is not California. This state does not embrace policies that isolate law enforcement partners or undermine the enforcement of duly enacted federal law," Knudsen will write to Gallatin County Attorney Audrey Cromwell.

When asked about claims her county does not recognize ICE as a criminal justice agency qualified to receive confidential criminal justice information (CCJI), Cromwell said such a claim is not accurate.

WH Blasts Politico Preview Of Trump Speech As Example Of Why Americans Should Not Trust Legacy Media

(Just the News) — White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted Politico Thursday for its preview of President Donald Trump's primetime speech on the Iran conflict, stating it was an example of why Americans should not trust certain publications.

The news outlet cited six anonymous sources in an article promoted as a preview of the president's address, which was headlined: "‘I came, I saw, I conquered:’ Trump set to claim victory in Iran at primetime address."

The president made an America-first declaration in his speech that the issues surrounding the Strait of Hormuz are not the U.S.'s problem, and assured Americans that the conflict with Iran will soon come to an end.

"This story was based on 'six people familiar with the planning,' and I am sure none of them actually read the President’s speech before it was delivered.

Politico did not even reach out to the White House for comment," Leavitt said on X.

"Another example of why you should not blindly trust what you read from the legacy media. This is what they do – call up random sources who just make things up, and then they report it as fact."
