Judge Says Michael Cohen May Have Committed Perjury, Refuses To End His Probation Early

NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge suggested Wednesday that Michael Cohen committed perjury under oath, giving fresh support to former President Donald Trump’s claims that his onetime personal lawyer – poised to be a star prosecution witness at his upcoming New York criminal trial – is an untrustworthy liar.

Judge Jesse M. Furman in Manhattan questioned Cohen's truthfulness in a written order denying his request for early release from the court supervision that followed his three-year prison sentence for crimes including tax evasion, lying to banks and Congress and violating campaign finance laws.

Furman cited Cohen’s testimony at Trump's civil fraud trial in a Manhattan state court last October. On the witness stand, Cohen insisted he wasn't actually guilty of tax evasion even though he pleaded guilty to the charge in 2018. Asked if he had lied to the federal judge who accepted his guilty plea, Cohen said, “Yes.”

“Cohen repeatedly and unambiguously testified at the state court trial that he was not guilty of tax evasion and that he had lied under oath" to the late Judge William H. Pauley III, Furman wrote.

Parkland Victim's Dad Slams VP Kamala Harris'
'Photo Op' Visit To 'push An Agenda': 'Slap In The Face'

(Fox News) — After Vice President Kamala Harris announced her plans to walk the halls of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, a parent of one of the victims of the deadly 2018 school shooting shared his frustration about the blatant "push" and "promotion" of gun control.

Ryan Petty, whose 14-year-old daughter Alaina Petty was tragically killed in the Parkland, Florida shooting in Feb. 2018, told Fox News Digital that he is "tired" of the high school being used for a "photo op" for politicians who want to "push" a gun control agenda, rather than understanding what led up to the tragedy.

"What's frustrating to me is that this building should have been demolished years ago, and it's now being used as a photo op for politicians that want to push an agenda," Petty said. "But politicians, quite frankly, don't understand what it takes to protect our nation's schools. They don't understand the causes of the Parkland tragedy."

"They don't understand what led to the tragedy and are just there to push their gun control agenda," he said. "I'm tired of it. It needs to stop. The building needs to be demolished."

British Museum Viciously Mocked For Warning
Landscape Paintings May Evoke ‘Nationalist’ Feelings

(Amer Wire News) — An art museum in the U.K. is warning visitors that pictures that depict the pastoral British countryside can trigger “dark nationalist” feelings.

Cambridge University’s Fitzwilliam Museum is revamping some of its displays to be compatible with leftist sensitivities of the modern era although the museum’s director bristles over the idea that the overhaul is “woke,” a term that is rapidly becoming a dirty word.

“I would love to think that there’s a way of telling these larger, more inclusive histories that doesn’t feel as if it requires a push-back from those who try to suggest that any interest at all in [this work is] what would now be called ‘woke’,”  Luke Syson told The Telegraph.

A new sign advises “rolling English hills” can evoke feelings of “pride towards a homeland” in an apparent effort to promote a certain stigma about the past that’s incompatible with current-day cultural cleansers.

In a gallery that displays “a bucolic work” by British artist John Constable who is renowned for his bucolic paintings of country settings, patrons are advised that “there is a darker side” to the “nationalist feeling” that could be evoked by images of the countryside.

Fox Host Says Progressives Preferred Fetterman ‘When He Couldn’t Speak’: ‘They Liked Him Incapacitated’

(Amer Wire News) — Progressive Democrats have turned on a man whom they believed was one of their own, Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) whom they seem to have liked more before he recovered from depression and a stroke.

That is the opinion of Fox News host Will Cain who suggested that many Democrats had much warmer feelings for the hulking Pennsylvania galoot back when he was a borderline zombie, a cuddly non-threatening pet before he went rogue.

On Saturday’s edition of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” the co-host commented on Fetterman’s appearance on the conservative network where he once again emphasized that he doesn’t consider himself to be a progressive.

“First of all, what an inspiring progression in his recovery,” Cain said after showing a clip of Fetterman’s interview on “Special Report with Bret Baier” on Friday.

“He can clearly speak and he could not clearly speak some six months ago, and, so, just as an individual, as a human, we should all celebrate his ability to recover from something like a stroke.”

Carlee Russell, Alabama Woman Who Faked Her
Own Kidnapping, Avoids Jail Time For Hoax

(Fox News) — Carlee Russell, the Alabama woman who faked her own kidnapping last year, has pleaded guilty and will not serve jail time.

On Thursday, Russell pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of filing a false police report.

Jefferson County Judge David Carpenter sentenced her to 12 months of supervised probation, 100 hours of community service and $17,974.88 paid in restitution to the City of Hoover. Russell will also have to continue mental health counseling, the judge ordered.

During the hearing, Carpenter blasted Russell, saying that the community was outraged by her stunt.

"It is a waste of resources to put you in jail. It is a waste of resources to have a trial. Although we are upset about what you’ve done, we’re not going to treat you differently than we would any other person charged with misdemeanors," Carpenter said.

Judge Carpenter wasn't the only person furious with Russell's case.

Palestinian Accused Of Collaborating With
Israel Executed In Jenin

(Jpost) — A man accused of collaborating with Israel was executed early on Thursday in the Jenin refugee camp. According to Palestinian reports, the man's brother, who was described as "one of the most dangerous agents" by Israel, led his execution.

The execution occurred hours after an Israel Air Force aircraft hit a vehicle in Jenin that was carrying two senior Islamic Jihad officials, killing them.

According to the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), one of them was Ahmed Barkhat, who carried out the Homesh shooting attack last May, in which Meir Tamari was murdered. In addition to him, Mohammad Hawashin, the commander of the terrorist infrastructure of the Islamic Jihad in Jenin, was eliminated, along with two other terrorists.

Security forces said that the two senior officials who were eliminated were also planning additional attacks in the coming days. They were behind the attempt to smuggle a terrorist into Israeli territory, which was thwarted earlier this month. They led the bomb attack that was carried out against IDF soldiers this month, during which seven soldiers were injured near Homesh.

Stephen Colbert Sent Legal Notice By Rose Hanbury
Over Prince William Alleged Affair Jokes

(Fox News) — "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert was reportedly sent a legal notice by lawyers of Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, whom the CBS star recently joked about having an unsubstantiated affair with Prince William.

"The rumor appears to have entered into the mainstream media recently as a result of another joke made about it on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,'" Hanbury's attorneys told In Touch Weekly on Thursday. "We have written on our client’s behalf to CBS and various other reputable media organisations to confirm that the allegation is false."

Representatives for Paramount and Hanbury did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.

‘ISIS Solely Responsible’: White House Denies
Putin Claim That Ukraine Involved In Moscow Attack

(Times Of Israel) — The White House denies Russian claims that Ukraine was involved in an ISIS terror attack on a concert hall in Moscow in which over 130 people were killed.

“ISIS bears sole responsibility for this attack. There was no Ukrainian involvement whatsoever,” National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson says in a statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin initially claimed after the attack that the assailants tried to escape in the direction of Ukraine and that Kyiv prepared an escape “window” for them. Ukraine has flatly denied these claims as well.

Watson confirms that the United States “shared information with Russia about a planned terrorist attack in Moscow.”

N.C. Officials Warn Residents
There Could Be Bears Under Their Homes

(UPI) — Wildlife officials in North Carolina are warning residents to be aware of an unusual potential household hazard: bears waking up under the house.

Justin McVey, a district wildlife biologist with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, said officials have noticed an uptick in recent years of bears making their winter homes under houses and decks.

"When people think of dens, they always think of caves," McVey told WGHP-TV. "That's not really the case."

He said bear dens are also sometimes found in crawlspaces and backyard brush piles.

"When I started out here 12 years ago, I may have gotten one or two calls about it," he said. "Now, we probably hear about 10-15 of those cases."
