True The Vote Defeats Fair Fight, Stacy Abrams, Marc Elias, And The Biden Department Of Justice In Landmark Election Case In Georgia Federal Court

HOUSTON, TX (True the Vote [TTV]) — Declares a decisive triumph in their legal battle against Stacy Abrams' Fair Fight, legal teams led by Marc Elias, and the Biden Department of Justice. A federal court in the Northern District of Georgia today affirmed that citizens have the right to lawfully petition their government in support of election integrity without fear of persecution or prosecution.

In a resounding vindication, TTV successfully defended its actions of December 2020, aiding Georgia citizens in filing elector challenges based on data showing over 364,000 voters appeared to be ineligible to vote due to change in residency.

This victory is a testament to every American's constitutional right to free speech and the importance of actively participating in the electoral process.

True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht affirmed, "Today's ruling sends a clear message to those who would attempt to control the course of our nation through lawfare and intimidation. American citizens will not be silenced.”

True the Vote lead attorney Jake Evans stated, “After almost three years of litigation and a two-week federal trial with plaintiff calling 12 witnesses, Judge Steven Jones awarded a complete defense verdict for all defendants. This decision is monumental. It vindicates True the Vote in totality and establishes that eligibility challenges under Section 230 are a proper method to ensure voter rolls are accurate. I am grateful to help achieve this great victory.”

Submerging Skylines: Major East Coast Cities
Including NYC And DC Rapidly Sinking

(SciTechDaily) — U.S. Atlantic coast cities are sinking faster than the global sea level is rising, posing risks to infrastructure in densely populated areas like New York City and Baltimore. Virginia Tech and USGS studies highlight the urgency of addressing this issue.

Major cities on the U.S. Atlantic coast are sinking, in some cases as much as 5 millimeters per year – a decline at the ocean’s edge that well outpaces global sea level rise, confirms new research from Virginia Tech and the U.S. Geological Survey.

Particularly hard-hit population centers such as New York City and Long Island, Baltimore, and Virginia Beach and Norfolk are seeing areas of rapid “subsidence,” or sinking land, alongside more slowly sinking or relatively stable ground, increasing the risk to roadways, runways, building foundations, rail lines, and pipelines, according to a study published on January 2 in the Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences.

“Continuous unmitigated subsidence on the U.S. East Coast should cause concern,” said lead author Leonard Ohenhen, a graduate student working with Associate Professor Manoochehr Shirzaei at Virginia Tech’s Earth Observation and Innovation Lab.

“This is particularly in areas with a high population and property density and a historical complacency toward infrastructure maintenance.”

A Fraying Coalition: Black, Hispanic, Young Voters
Abandon Biden As Election Year Begins

(USA Today) — President Joe Biden heads into the election year showing alarming weakness among stalwarts of the Democratic base, with Donald Trump leading among Hispanic voters and young people. One in 5 Black voters now say they'll support a third-party candidate in November.

In a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll, Biden's failure to consolidate support in key parts of the coalition that elected him in 2020 has left him narrowly trailing Trump, the likely Republican nominee, 39%-37%; 17% support an unnamed third-party candidate.

When seven candidates are specified by name, Trump's lead inches up to 3 percentage points, 37%-34%, with independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at the top of the third-party candidates at 10%.

The findings underscore the formidable political task the president faces this year to win a second term.

New Hampshire House Approves
Transgender Surgeries, Sports Bans

(Just the News) — The New Hampshire House on Thursday voted in favor of banning doctors from performing gender-related surgeries on minors, but not the proscription of other treatments such as hormone therapy.

The bill passed in a 199-175 vote, according to The Hill. It next heads to the Republican-controlled Senate.

The lower chamber also approved a measure requiring that athletes compete on teams in line with their sex.

Twenty-two states have enacted bans on transgender surgeries for minors, according to the pro-LGBT Movement Advancement Project. Twenty-one of those have also banned lesser medical treatments.

The state House's bill initially included comparable restrictions on hormone treatments and puberty blockers, though such provisions did not make it into the final bill.

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert Swaps Congressional Districts As She Faces Tight Reelection Campaign

(USA Today) — Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., will not seek reelection in her current congressional district and will instead run for a nearby seat, the second-term lawmaker announced Wednesday.

Rather than mount a rematch campaign against Democratic challenger Adam Frisch in what likely would’ve been one of the most watched and tightly contested House races in the country, Boebert will now run for the seat being vacated by Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., who announced in November he would not seek a sixth term.

"I did not arrive at this decision easily,” Boebert said in a news release announcing the decision. “A lot of prayer, a lot of tough conversations, and a lot of perspective have convinced me this is the best way I can continue to fight for Colorado, for the conservative movement, for my kids’ future, and for the future of this great country.”

Finally, We Know Why Pee Is Yellow

(Live Science) — Scientists finally resolved a mystery you may not have known needed solving – we now know why urine is yellow.

We're told to watch out for color changes in our pee, as the loss of its normal, yellowish hue could be a sign of a medical problem – but what actually makes urine yellow in the first place?

Turns out, scientists didn't know the exact answer to this question until recently. Now, researchers have discovered that pee's golden color is caused by an enzyme called bilirubin reductase, which is produced by bacteria in the gut. The scientists reported their findings in a new study, published Wednesday (Jan. 3) in the journal Nature Microbiology.

Scientists previously knew that urine's yellow color stems from how the body disposes of old blood cells. When red blood cells reach the end of their life cycle – usually after around 120 days – they are degraded in the liver. One of the byproducts of this process is a bright orange substance called bilirubin, which is secreted from the liver into the gut.
