Now 3 U.S. Carriers Are Operating Near North Korea

(TruNews) With the arrival of USS Nimitz and its carrier strike group in the 7th Fleet's area of operation, the U.S. Navy now has three carriers operating near North Korea just ahead of President Donald Trump's tour of Asia.

When the president said he was sending an armada, he meant it. The Nimitz carrier strike group includes:
  • Carrier Air Wing 11 (three F-18 squadrons and support aircraft);
  • Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton;
  • Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers USS Howard, USS Shoup, USS Pinckney, USS Kidd; and
  • up to three unidentified Los Angeles-class attack submarines
Nimitz joins the USS Ronald Reagan battle group, which is forward-deployed to Japan and has been operating off the Korean Peninsula since May, as well as the USS Roosevelt strike group, moved in from the Persian Gulf two days earlier. Combined, those two strike groups include eight more F-18 squadrons and their support aircraft, two more Ticonderoga-class cruisers, six more Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, and up to six more attack subs.

Michigan Mother Charged With Forcing Daughter To Undergo Female Genital Mutilation Wants Her Ankle Monitor Removed Because It Irritates Her Skin

(Daily Mail) A Michigan mother charged with forcing her daughter to undergo genital mutilation wants her ankle monitor removed claiming that it irritates her skin, according to court documents filed in the case by her attorney on Tuesday.

The Oakland County mother, who has not been publicly named to protect the identity of her minor daughter, has requested for a judge to approve that the device to be removed from her ankle, the Detroit Free Press reported.

In the documents filed by her attorney, Brian Legghio, the woman argues that the ankle monitor 'serves no practical purpose and there is no reason to continue wearing it for the next eight months.'

She added that the device 'can never be removed even while showering, bathing and sleeping,' that it is 'physically uncomfortable and causes irritation to the skin,' and that it is 'unnecessarily intrusive'.

Her attorney wrote: 'It's visual presence and it's intermittent beeping requires (her) to explain to her 8-year-old and 5-year-old children why their mother must wear an electronic bracelet on her ankle.'

He's a licensed social worker. He's an activist with the local Black Lives Matter chapter. He was banned from the School of Social Welfare building at the University of Kansas.

And his latest hat: University of Kansas employee.

The Lawrence Journal-World reports that the public university hired Stephens "as a graduate teaching assistant in the department of theater, where he is also a doctoral student."

Stephens made himself persona non grata in Twente Hall two years ago when he cornered the social work dean in his office "unannounced and without an appointment" and ordered him to send a message that Stephens would dictate, according to a December 2015 letter to Stephens from the Office of the Provost:

Facebook Censors Duck Dynasty's Robertson
Over Cleaning A Duck

(Wash Examiner) According to CRTV's sister publication, Conservative Review, the social media giant removed from Robertson's page a video from a new show in which he shows how to make duck gumbo from scratch, including preparing the duck.

Facebook said his new In the Woods With Phil show video was too graphic. It was from his show titled, "You can call me Mr. Organic" and can be seen here.

Under the censored notice, Robertson wrote, "Graphic violence? Where do these people think their food comes from?! Are you sick of being told God's name and your way of life need warning labels?"

Here's what CR wrote: In the video, he prepares a duck he hunted to make some duck gumbo for lunch. He plucks it, singes it in the fire, and, of course, removes its head before cooking it. Quelle horreur!

Life-Size Trump Scarecrow At California
Elementary School Raises Eyebrows

SAUGUS (CBS-LA) Some California parents are up in arms after they say a life-size scarecrow depicting President Donald Trump was placed at an elementary school.

A Facebook post on the Santa Clarita Community Watchdog page shared an image of the scarecrow, which reportedly was placed at Santa Clarita Elementary School in Saugus.

"No matter what your political affiliation is, this was 100% inappropriate for elementary students to see at Santa Clarita Elementary today!!" the Facebook post read.

Another person wrote, "Ouch. Wrong wrong. Kids don't need to be subject to this. No matter what these people think of our President, he IS our President and deserves respect for the position. It's not the educators position to encourage our children to disrespect anyone."

 6-Foot Pet Asian Water Lizard Escapes Into
Florida Neighborhood

NAPLES, Fla. (Atlanta JC) There is a lizard on the loose.

Poseidon, a 5-year-old Asian water lizard, escaped his Golden Gate Estates home more than a week ago, and his owner is asking for residents' help to find his beloved pet.

The 6-foot, 50-pound reptile escaped from his 20-by-20-foot outdoor enclosure off Wilson Boulevard on Oct. 14, said Kevin Hennings, who owns the pet lizard.

Poseidon was not in his enclosure during Hurricane Irma, but the storm roughed up his cage when a tree uprooted and fell on it, said Hennings, 20.

Hennings repaired the cage, but somehow Poseidon must have squeezed his way through the floor and door panels, he said.

"He was able to escape with no breaks or openings," Hennings said. "He would've had to find some crevice."
